Architect associatively assembles idiomatic expressions which are linked to the word “architect” in English and Farsi. The spectrum of words, which form an Ionic column, reaches from “hope” to “totalitarian regime” and points toward the architect as planner and designer which at the same time serves as a metaphor for the author of interventions into spheres which don’t seem to be that of the built environment. Architecture—physical and immaterial—is never neutral but carried and still carries ideologies and claims to power under changing historical circumstances.
